faith

My son phoned me today and wished me Happy Mother´s Day. I was taken by surprise because we have never celebrated that day in our family. However, he called me to thank me for the hooded jacket, I had just finished for his baby. I knit one before the baby was born- 8 months ago. The pattern is from 1940. The little girl was wearing the jacket on the way home from hospital and has worn it every day since. She is now 7 months old and needed a new jacket. This time the parents chose the color, a vintage pewter, and I chose among a million, four square wooden buttons. In stead of button holes I made I- cords to the young parent´s entire satisfaction.
I found the hanger at our local flee market and saved it from destruction.

  1. I LOVE the pattern. And I think grey for a baby is just fine. I hope you didn't worry about which side the buttons are on!

  2. Gray is one of my favorite colors for babies. Love the vintage jacket. You have shown great restraint by not knitting at least 8 sweaters for that baby in the last 8 months.

  5. Thanks, Dawnnica. Sorry, there is no English pattern. It is from an old Danish craft book, with copyright and so on... Congratulations with your baby!!
