sale

I am very pleased with my work these days ! Of course you have to have a gift for knitting; ) but you can never completely predict, how a project will turn out.
I just finished a waistcoat from Drops. And I am really happy with it. I wanted to try a new yarn from Garnstudio, Nepal, which is 65% wool and 35 % alpaca. Gauge is 17 sts x 22 rows and it runs 75 m. It is not always easy to find a worsted yarn in Denmark. The tradition is to work several fingering threads together. It is ok ,because you can mix colors and fibers in that way. But it is sometimes very pricey. Back to Nepal. I wanted to try it on a waistcoat(No sleeves) and I chose this pattern which is new from Spring 2010. To make it match gauge, I had to go down ½ mm needle size and I worked one size smaller than I usually choose.
After soaking and blocking (Drops pattern have a schematic drawing with measurements) I can tell that Nepal only sheds a little bit and grows very, very little.
The pattern is lovely. The bottom of the fronts are worked in modular knitting which provides the traditional points of the waistcoat, which I find essential;)) The yarn is on sale right now. I used 5 skeins for size 36.
