On my needles this month are Whisper Cardigan and Cookie A´s sockpattern : Kai- mei.
Both patterns represent new ways of transforming a string and two sticks into a soft elastic fabric which covers human body. What fascinates me about knitting is that by increases and decreases and simple short rows you are able to turn your work right-angled without cutting and produce a sock- I think "kai-mei" calls for a tabi-toe.
Great idea for that sock! I think it would be a shame to cover that great design with a shoe. Sandals would be perfect. I think it's great that knitters can make wearing socks with sandals aesthetically pleasing and socially acceptable!
