I have been away for a holiday to the North of Denmark. Of course I had to go to
Skagen Museum to watch all the paintings there. I have been there lots of times and I enjoy the it more and more. There are a lot of paintings of local people living in the late 1800 and especially for me who has so much love for tie shawls, it is joyful to watch.
What a lovely deserted beach. And I like the photo, but why must the Painter assume the girls are gossiping? Perhaps they are discussing the meaning of life, or knitting!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing paintings with knitting in them, thanks.
Is the woman at the front on the right using 5 double pointed needles? Wow! That's some coordination! What a lovely painting - I wish I was there.
ReplyDeleteOf course the girls are not gossiping. They are sitting on a hill in Skagen called "Gossip Hill"
ReplyDeleteLost in translation:)
Beautiful painting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting about it!
