Girls gossiping

I have been away for a holiday to the North of Denmark. Of course I had to go to Skagen Museum to watch all the paintings there. I have been there lots of times and I enjoy the it more and more. There are a lot of paintings of local people living in the late 1800 and especially for me who has so much love for tie shawls, it is joyful to watch.

  1. What a lovely deserted beach. And I like the photo, but why must the Painter assume the girls are gossiping? Perhaps they are discussing the meaning of life, or knitting!

I love seeing paintings with knitting in them, thanks.

  2. Is the woman at the front on the right using 5 double pointed needles? Wow! That's some coordination! What a lovely painting - I wish I was there.

  3. Of course the girls are not gossiping. They are sitting on a hill in Skagen called "Gossip Hill"
    Lost in translation:)

  4. Beautiful painting!

    Thanks for posting about it!
